If doola is on your shortlist for a New Mexico LLC, you're looking at the best-known name among formation services for founders abroad. doola sells more than we do, bookkeeping and tax returns included. Our Non-US Founder Package does one job: a New Mexico LLC, an EIN for an owner with no SSN, and a prepared application for a bank account. We sell that package, so read this as a competitor's view.

Where doola is strong

By its own count, doola has formed over 22,000 businesses, for owners spread across more than 175 countries. Past its Starter plan, it offers Pulse bookkeeping at $300 a year, a Tax and Compliance plan for federal and state returns, and Business-in-a-Box, where a dedicated bookkeeper keeps your books. C-corps are on offer alongside LLCs, and doola backs its formations with a refund guarantee.

On states, the pricing page is silent. doola's blog steers most founders toward Wyoming or Delaware while saying any state is possible, so check New Mexico with doola before you commit.

New Mexico costs, year one to year three

doola Starter Our package
Year one, with New Mexico's $50 fee $287 at promo, $347 at list $449
Years two and three Starter renewal not published $99 per year
New Mexico annual report Not required for LLCs Not required for LLCs

In year one doola is $102 to $162 cheaper, depending on which Starter price applies when you buy. Past that we can't compare honestly, because doola doesn't publish a Starter renewal figure. Ours is $99.

What's different with us

You know the renewal on day one. The $399 is charged once. Registered agent service is the single recurring item, at $99 a year, and you can turn it off in your dashboard.

The bank application is prepared, not referred. doola refers its customers to Mercury, where a passport is part of the application. With our package, we get your bank account started with our partners: the application is filled in from your order, your New Mexico certificate goes with it, and it's ready the moment you sign your SS-4. You approve it, we send it, and the EIN follows in the background. Our partners decide every application, so approval can't be promised.

The no-SSN EIN is our routine. We complete Form SS-4 the way the IRS instructs for applicants without an SSN, you e-sign it, and we fax it in. Allow two to eight weeks; the IRS has no fast lane for this route.

When doola makes more sense

  • You'd like one company handling formation now and your tax returns later.
  • Ongoing bookkeeping is something you'd buy anyway.
  • You're forming a C-corp, not an LLC.
  • The lowest first-year price matters most, and an unpublished renewal doesn't worry you.

Your obligations in New Mexico

New Mexico LLCs skip the annual report entirely, so no yearly state report or report fee is waiting for you with either provider. The state does insist that your LLC always has a registered agent and office listed. Federal reporting is a separate matter: many foreign-owned single-member LLCs send the IRS Form 5472 with a pro forma 1120 each year, and gross receipts tax registration may apply depending on what you sell. We don't handle those, so line up a tax professional who works with non-US owners.

FAQ

What does a New Mexico LLC cost with doola compared with you?

doola Starter was $237 on promotion ($297 list) when we checked, and New Mexico's $50 fee comes on top, so $287 to $347 for year one. Our package plus the same $50 is $449.

Does doola form LLCs in New Mexico?

doola's pricing page doesn't list states. Its blog recommends Wyoming or Delaware for most founders and says it can form in any state, so confirm New Mexico with doola before ordering.

Will either company charge me for a New Mexico annual report?

There's nothing to charge for. New Mexico LLCs file no annual or biennial report. The ongoing requirement is a registered agent on record, and ours renews at $99 a year.

Can doola prepare my federal tax filings?

Yes, through Tax and Compliance, which handles federal and state returns for $1,599 a year on promotion ($1,999 list). The pricing page doesn't name Form 5472, so ask doola. Our package has no tax service.

Does my bank application have to wait for the EIN?

Not with us. It's finished when you sign the SS-4, New Mexico certificate attached, and goes out once you approve it. The EIN shows up later. Our partners decide on every account, so approval isn't guaranteed.
